Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, location, or other detail entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The query is handled under the provider’s own systems and privacy practices. Emmet County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. Visitors should avoid entering facts that the selected search service does not need.
Messages Sent to Us
If a visitor sends an email or uses a contact form, the message and its return details are kept as needed to read the request and respond. Those submissions are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, a court order, or another valid legal demand. A message should not include sensitive custody, medical, financial, or identity data that is unnecessary to the question.
Technical Details Collected During Visits
Standard web systems may record basic technical information when a page loads. These records help deliver the site, assess traffic, maintain performance, and identify faults or misuse. Depending on the browser, device, and services involved, the collected details may include:

That tracking is managed by the provider, not as an Emmet County government function and not through the county jail, courts, or Michigan Department of Corrections. Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek or collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion. Reasonable steps will be taken to locate and remove that submission from systems under the site’s control.
Choices Concerning Personal Data
Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, a person may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal information held about that person
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete personal information where erasure is available
- Object to or opt out of certain forms of processing
These choices apply to information controlled by Emmet County Released Inmates. Requests about a Sheriff record, an MDOC file, a court entry, a VINE registration, or information held by a search provider must go to the body or service that controls it. Michigan public-record access is governed in part by the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, beginning at MCL 15.231, but that law does not turn this private site into a records custodian.
Revisions to This Privacy Notice
This notice may be revised when site practices, vendors, legal duties, or available services change. An updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after publication means the revised notice applies to later activity.
